A heartfelt journey across Nepal, Hong Kong, London, and Africa that led to inner peace, purpose, and a life of spiritual service through Brahma Kumaris.

Early Life in Nepal

I was born in the peaceful and spiritual land of Nepal, a country known for its mountains, temples, and simplicity. My early childhood was short-lived in my homeland, as my father’s service in the British Army soon took our family abroad. Though my roots were in Nepal, my upbringing unfolded in foreign lands, shaping my identity as a global citizen with a Nepali heart.

Growing Up Abroad: Brunei and Hong Kong

My father’s military career took us first to Brunei and later to Hong Kong. These places became my second homes. Life in Brunei was calm and disciplined, while Hong Kong introduced me to the fast-paced rhythm of modern city life. I attended international schools, made friends from different cultures, and learned to adapt to new environments with ease.

Growing up abroad gave me exposure to diversity and opportunity, but deep within, I often felt a quiet longing for something more meaningful. Even amidst comfort and progress, there was a subtle emptiness—a feeling that life had a deeper purpose waiting to be discovered.

The London Chapter

I moved to London to pursue higher education. What began as a few years of study turned into eight years of both academic and professional life. London was vibrant, full of ambition and culture. I worked hard, built a career, and lived what many would call a successful life.

Yet, beneath the surface of that ordinary routine, I often found myself questioning the meaning of it all. Life seemed to revolve around work, social gatherings, and responsibilities, but I longed for something beyond the material world—something that could bring true peace and fulfillment.

The Turning Point: Journey to Africa

In 2008, a sudden desire for change stirred within me. I decided to travel to Africa, seeking adventure and a new perspective on life. I wanted to experience a world untouched by the rush of modern cities—a world closer to nature and simplicity.

My time in Africa was transformative. I witnessed the beauty of life lived with minimal resources yet abundant joy. The people I met were grounded, connected to the earth, and content with what they had.

Holiday break in Nepal

After my African journey, I planned a short holiday in Nepal—a couple of weeks to reconnect with my roots and family. But destiny had other plans. Those two weeks stretched into two months, and within that time, my life took a complete turn.

During my stay, I came across the teachings of the Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual organization dedicated to self-realization and world transformation through meditation and purity of thought. Their philosophy resonated deeply with me. It felt as though I had finally found the answers to the questions that had followed me for years.

Spiritual Awakening

Through the practice of Raja Yoga meditation, I began to experience a profound sense of peace and clarity. I understood that true happiness lies not in external achievements but in the awareness of the soul and its connection with the Supreme. The more I practiced, the more I felt liberated from the illusions of the material world.

In those two months, my life transformed completely. I embraced a new identity—not as the worldly Sita who chased success, but as Brahma Kumaris Sita, a soul dedicated to spiritual growth and service to humanity.

A New Path

Since then, my life has been guided by simplicity, purity, and peace. I have learned that every experience—whether in Brunei, Hong Kong, London, Africa, or Nepal—was preparing me for this awakening. Each place, each phase, was a step toward discovering my true self.

Today, as Brahma Kumaris Sita, I live a life of purpose and inner contentment. My journey from the outer world of ambition to the inner world of spirituality has taught me that the greatest adventure is not found in distant lands but within the depths of one’s own soul.

My story is a reminder that life can change in the most unexpected ways, and sometimes, a short detour can lead to the discovery of one’s true path.
