As the Chairperson of Sydney Community Group Inc. (SCG), a women-led, DGR-registered charitable organisation, she has been leading community-focused initiatives since November 2020, bringing together volunteers, young people, community organisations and businesses to create positive social impact.
Her leadership is grounded in compassion, collaboration and practical action, with a strong focus on supporting vulnerable individuals and families across Western Sydney.
A Commitment to Community Service
Under Indu’s leadership, Sydney Community Group Inc. has actively supported initiatives addressing homelessness, hardship and social disadvantage. She has worked alongside organisations such as the Haymarket Foundation and Homelessness NSW, contributing to donation drives and community initiatives that provide assistance to vulnerable people and families.
In May 2026, Indu, together with the SCG Youth Team, supported the Dundas Community Centre in Parramatta by contributing essential items for children. The initiative reflected her belief that meaningful community support begins with understanding local needs and taking practical steps to address them.
Her commitment also extends to health-related causes and charitable fundraising. She has supported initiatives such as Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, along with other cancer-awareness activities, helping bring communities together in support of important causes.

Indu believes young people have an important role to play in building stronger and more inclusive communities. Through Sydney Community Group Inc., she encourages youth volunteering and creates opportunities for young people to participate in charity work, donation drives and community service activities.
By involving the SCG Youth Team in practical initiatives, she helps young volunteers develop a sense of responsibility, compassion and social awareness while making a positive contribution to society.
