The Space Walk 2025 event, presented by Sydney Community Group, was a spectacular celebration — a vibrant blend of fashion, dance, music, and culture woven into one unforgettable evening. From the moment the lights dimmed and the first model stepped onto the runway, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. The stage transformed into a canvas of bold self-expression, with every walk, pose, and gesture telling its own unique story.

A Visionary at the Helm
At the heart of this event stands Manjula Viswanath, CEO of SCG and a Hills Shire resident for over 20 years, whose vision and dedication brought Space Walk to life. For the third year in a row, she has tirelessly worked to raise much-needed funds for the homeless through this initiative — a shining example of how creativity can fuel compassion.

🏆 Celebrating Milestones
The evening was further elevated when Mark Hodges MP honoured Sydney Community Group for their 5th anniversary, acknowledging their remarkable achievement of raising over $35,000 for community causes.

💖 Recognising Community Champions
Indu Harikrishna, Chair of SCG, was honoured for her unwavering dedication to the community — from leading fundraising initiatives to providing food, clothing, shelter, and emergency relief for those in need.

Councillor Sreeni Pillamarri, City of Parramatta – Epping Ward, applauded the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage through such vibrant events.

👠 Fashion & Performance Highlights
The runway was nothing short of magical.

  • The SCG Youth Team lit up the stage with a ramp walk that was an absolute delight to the eyes.
  • Two spectacular boutiques, Janqui by Sid and House of Indie, showcased exquisite collections — from regal silks to contemporary fusion pieces — that left the audience in awe.
  • Dancers in vibrant sarees performed with a joyful blend of traditional and modern movements, earning cheers from the crowd.

🍽 Attention to Detail
Behind the scenes, Secretary Lakshmi Pillamarri meticulously planned the table settings and arrangements, ensuring guests enjoyed their meals seamlessly at their tables — a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience.

🌺 Special Guests & Support
The evening was graced by Tiya Gorain, founder of Women in Business (WIB), along with over 300 attendees who came together to celebrate art, culture, and compassion.

The vibrant atmosphere was further enriched by a flavour-packed culinary spread, with dips from SSS Foods — owned by Women in Business member Jalni Shah — being a standout favourite.

🙏 Heartfelt Gratitude
None of this would have been possible without the generous sponsors whose support ensures fundraising events like Space Walk continue to make a real difference for those who need it most.

Space Walk 2025 wasn’t just an event — it was an experience. A celebration of creativity, a testament to the power of community, and a reminder that when art meets purpose, the impact can be truly life-changing.
