At just 17 years old, Mitali Sharma made a life-changing decision that would shape the woman she is today. Migrating to Australia marked the beginning of a new chapter—one defined by courage, adaptation, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth. While the transition brought opportunities, it also quietly introduced challenges that would later become central to her life’s purpose.

Transition to Australia: Building a Life, Carrying the Weight
After moving to Australia, Mitali immersed herself in studies and work determined to build a stable and successful future as a Chef. However, staying constantly busy became a way to cope rather than heal. The sense of isolation and emotional fatigue followed her, gradually intensifying.
As life presented its drastic ups and downs, the emotional toll deepened. Mitali attempted to express her feelings to those around her, but without fully understanding her own experience, she struggled to articulate it in a way others could comprehend. This led to further withdrawal, reinforcing a cycle of silence and disconnection.

The Turning Point: Choosing to Seek Help
A defining moment came when Mitali made a courageous decision—to reach out for help and begin educating herself and got into spirituality to know about what she was experiencing. This marked the beginning of a transformative phase in her life. Through professional support and self-education, she began to understand the complexities of mental health, including the concept of functional depression and the impact of unresolved emotional experiences.
This journey of self-discovery allowed her to reconnect with herself. She began to open up, express her thoughts, and rebuild her emotional wellbeing. What once felt like a burden became a source of strength and clarity. She started her Athletic journey again and participated in several running events and also she is starting her psychology study to learn more about human behaviour, emotions, and cognitive processes, empowering her to improve mental health awareness and also pursuing modelling as a passion that make her feel empowered and make her feel like a queen.
2024–2025: Finding Purpose Through Pageantry
Mitali’s decision to step outside her comfort zone led her to enter the Miss Galaxy Australia pageant. What began as a personal challenge soon evolved into a powerful platform for growth and advocacy.
Through her journey in the Australia Galaxy Pageants, she discovered confidence, resilience, and the courage to use her voice. The experience was not just about presentation or competition—it was about leadership, community impact, and meaningful self-development.
Australia Galaxy Pageants, established in 2011, has empowered over 570 women through initiatives focused on confidence-building, leadership, charity, and advocacy. The platform’s emphasis on purpose and integrity resonated deeply with Mitali, aligning with her own values and aspirations.

2026: National Finalist and Advocate for Change
Today, Mitali Sharma stands proudly as a National Finalist for Miss Galaxy Australia 2026, representing Victoria. Her journey reflects far more than personal achievement—it represents transformation, courage, and a commitment to making a difference.
Through the Galaxy platform, she found the strength to share her story openly, breaking the silence she once lived in. She now uses her voice to advocate for mental health awareness and to inspire others to embrace their own journeys with honesty and compassion.
“iHearU”: Turning Pain into Purpose
At the heart of Mitali’s advocacy is her platform, “iHearU.” Born from her personal experiences, it serves as a safe and empowering space for individuals navigating their mental health journeys.
“iHearU” represents the belief that growth—emotional, mental, and personal—requires patience, understanding, and self-compassion. It acknowledges that healing is not linear and that every step forward, no matter how small, is meaningful.

Through this initiative, Mitali aims to:
- Encourage open conversations around mental health
- Promote early awareness and emotional literacy
- Provide support and reassurance to those who feel alone
- Reduce stigma through education and shared experiences
Her mission is rooted in prevention—empowering individuals to recognize when something isn’t right and to seek support before reaching a crisis point.
A Journey Beyond the Crown
For Mitali, the Miss Galaxy Australia journey is not defined by titles or accolades. It is about impact. It is about using her lived experience to create a more compassionate and informed society.
Her story is a reminder that strength is not the absence of struggle, but the willingness to face it. That being “not okay” is part of being human. And that true growth begins when we allow ourselves to be seen, heard, and understood.
As she continues her journey on the national stage, Mitali Sharma is not just representing Victoria—she is representing resilience, authenticity, and the power of finding one’s voice.
